I was blessed to get to photograph this loving family on one of the coldest, wettest weekends here in ATX. When most people cancelled their photos shoots, Eileen kept hers! And I'm so glad she did.... I got to meet her and her husband's sweet family! I immediately felt the love and happiness they shared! From G-Mack Daddy to little Jack the dog! They braved the cold for a few fabulous pictures outside and then we recreated an older family pic in the living room. If you look really close you'll see the original photo in the photo! This shoot reminded me how much family means to all of us.... it is truly a tie that binds us forever! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Sweet baby Avery was born on October 21, 2013 at 1:23 pm to one of my dearest friends! She is "our" newest member of the girls club and we are so excited to meet her and can't wait to watch her grow!!! Her mommy and daddy are special people - with huge hearts, a joy of life (and UT football), and kind spirits! I am so honored to have photographed Avery at a week old, then at 2 weeks old. Here are a few of my favorite photos from our time.....
I got to photograph this sweet family as we walked the streets of South Congress. Kelly is recently divorced and needed new family photos! I was glad to snap a few shots of her 3 beautiful children. The youngest is into gymnastics, the son loves Japanese anime, and the oldest just started her first semester of college! Here are a few of my favorites from our session.....
For my first blog on my website I wanted to take a moment to share with you how my journey into photographer started. From a young girl I can always remember being infatuated with photos. I love the idea of nostalgic moments captured in time by a photo. I used to love looking through my great-aunt Alma's photos seeing my Grandma as a young girl and can remember sitting in my mom's closet looking at her old photo albums. I've just always been drawn to them and especially love anything artistic photo wise as well.
So years later here I am taking the photos and capturing the memories. My Canon used to go with me everywhere. I documented every family event and holiday, especially after my nephew was born. I swear I have over 20 albums of pictures. Then I had my own son. I had to document him as well. Flash here and snap shot there. Soon I was requesting a "fancier" camera and trying to learn how to use it properly. I honestly took forever to even come into the "digital age" of photos! I loved film and swore to never stop -- but technology won! Well 2 years ago, I met Erin. Her daughter did modeling thru boutiques online and I thought hey -- I could do that with Trevor; I take decent photos. So I signed him up and began snapping even more. Soon Erin and I joked and talked about being more "professional" - advertising our services so that we could learn more, look legit and make a little money! She founded SweetLeigh Photography and I - Shuggabug Photography. Below is my journey with my little man, T. He is my life and joy and I am so glad I ventured on this journey with him. His modeling has given me ample opportunities to get better and better and grow as a photographer. |
